Soundtrack for Northern British Columbia
Today we released our “Hiking Songs for Northern British Columbia” soundtrack, which is a list of songs which have inspired us while we trekked across Canada along the Trans Canada Trail in 2024 through Northern Alberta, Northern British Columbia and into the Yukon!
While typically of these songs are chosen to reflect our excitement of being in nature and on the trail. This month’s songs might more reasonably reflect both the wonder of the landscapes we see daily and the effort required to trek onward.
“
'Cause sometimes you just feel tired
Feel weak, and when you feel weak
You feel like you wanna just give up
But you gotta search within you
Try to find that inner strength and just pull that shit out of you
And get that motivation to not give up
And not be a quitter
No matter how bad you wanna just fall flat on your face and collapse.”
One of our traditions, starting in June 2019 while we trekked along The Great Trail starting in Newfoundland, was to release a set of songs which have a special meaning for us, which we have heard a lot, have come to associate with our hike along the way, or that someone along the route pointed out to us and it stuck. Each month or so we will share a new list of these songs with you by uploading a small listing for your enjoyment.
