Platinum Panda : 110% of Goal Reached

Just over two weeks ago we signed to climb 1776 stairs (or 100 stories) for nature, wildlife, and birds up the CN Tower.   When we registered we set a lofty goal of striving to raise $1000 dollars to support WWF-Canada’s efforts to conserve and protect endangered habitats as well as reverse wildlife loss.

This weekend we ventured up all 1776 steps and in fact raised $1100 … or 110% … of our goal!

Having raised more than $1000 dollars we are deemed to be “Platinum Pandas” and so were escorted to the base of the CN Tower to begin our climb!

While we certainly didn't set any speed records en route we were very happy with our slow and steady pace as well as our final time.

Thank you to everyone who has supported our 14,000 km trek from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean on the Trans Canada Trail and who turned out to support our fundraising efforts for WWF-Canada.  Thank you also to those kind souls who have emailed messages of encouragement for both our CN Tower Climb for Nature today and for coming year as we venture the Arctic!

A return to the Great Trail of Canada is near!  We are set to spend the next month getting back into shape before heading from Fort Saskatchewan to the Arctic.

Quick CN Tower Fact: Did you know?  That Swans, like the Trumpeter swan, can fly up to a height of 2,438 metres during migration, which is nearly four times the height of the CN Tower!
