Facebook Lost ... yet Again

Just to let everyone who was again kind enough and follow us on our second attempt at Facebook. 

 

Over a month ago, effective June 14^th, 2023 our Facebook account was no longer accessible to us and many of our posts had begun to be removed and tagged as “infringing content”.

 

 

As of today (July 25th, 2023) we received an email that both our own Facebook accounts and the Come Walk With Us page are due to be deleted for "posting infringing content" and "misleading content".  No details have been given beyond this. All attempts to have the situation clarified have failed to garner a response.   We have only ever posted links to our hiking blog and photographs taken on Canada's great Trail and so we once again have no idea who has complained about either our images or commentary. 

 

Beyond this we have been informed that all images and "references to organizations” "are the sole ownership of that organization and cannot be used by any other entity" – even if that content are photographs that we have taken and own. 

 

 

Given that this is the second time that our hiking account has been questioned and shut down we have decided that Facebook is no longer a viable means to share our adventure as we continue to trek across Canada.  It is a great deal of effort to put out regular content and having now twice posted more than 850 blog entries and thousands of pictures we no longer feel it is worth the time to re-post everything a third time.

 

At present we will still be regularly posting blog entries and continue to both share an document our trek from coast to coast to coast.
