Adventure Reading for Hikers and Explorers
In our last post we listed a number of online resources and printed guidebooks that we plan to use while preparing for and undertaking our hike along Canada's Great Trail. However, during our preparations we have not by any means been limiting ourselves to consult only books specifically on the Trans Canada Trail and the Great Trail. Instead, given that immense nature of our upcoming hike, we have turned our attention to historical accounts of Canadian explorers who recount tales of traversing the nation. We have also read a great deal about those inspiring individuals who have been transformed by their time in nature while trekking across the United States of America, and of course enjoyed accounts by others who have birded across entire continents and hiked around the globe. Below is a small sample of some of the many great hiking books we have come across and learned from.
